Missouri's reservoir largemouth tier is anchored by Lake of the Ozarks (54,000 acres on the Osage River) — a recurring Bassmaster Elite Series + MLF Toyota Series rotation venue and one of the country's most-fished destination bass lakes. Truman Lake (55,600 acres immediately upstream) and Table Rock Lake (43,100 acres on the White River, recurring BASS + MLF venue) round out the trophy reservoir tier. The statewide daily limit is 6 black bass combined across largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass. Impoundments carry no statewide length limit, but the major reservoirs each post a 15-inch minimum (Pomme de Terre is 13 inches); streams carry a 12-inch minimum. Note the spring stream rule: on most Ozark and non-Ozark streams black bass may only be caught and released from March 1 until the harvest season opens May 23 — year-round harvest applies on the Mississippi River, all waters north of the Missouri River, the St. Francis below Wappapello Dam, and the southeast-Missouri bootheel streams.
